Product Description

You've already heard of them -- Dracula 2.0, Frankenstein, Sherlock Holmes 2.0, Christmas Carol, and others -- book tests that you can read from front to back, top to bottom, even left to right and never find the gaff that's built into each and every page. The Edgar Allen Poe Book Test is build the same way, from the ground up, inch by painstaking inch of text. EXCEPT, this one has a special change to it -- we didn't use the corner word, but the second in from the corner to make it even more hidden (as if it needed it).

Edgar Allan Poe (January 19, 1809 – October 7, 1849) was an American writer, poet, editor and literary critic, considered part of the American Romantic Movement. He was best known for his tales of the macabre. He was one of the earliest American practitioners of the short story and is considered the inventor of the detective-fiction genre.

Here's how it works:

A spectator freely selects any page and you know the first word on the page. It's that simple and direct. No questions have to be asked and nothing is written down. There are no page forces and you never have to know the page number. It is perfect for walk around performances because there are only two steps-the spectator chooses the page and you divine the first word without hesitation. There is nothing to memorize and you don't need any information from the spectator! There's no pumping, no mirrors, no switches, no equivoque, no forces, nothing.

The Edgar Allan Poe Book Test is completely examinable before and after the performance and anyone can read the book from the beginning to end without ever finding the gaff. Let us say it again, you CAN READ THE ENTIRE BOOK from front to back. There are no duplicate prediction words; the gaff is TOTALLY self-contained. And guess what... you can repeat it as many times as you want! Yes, you can do it for one person and then immediately do it for one of their friends right in front of them and they'll never know how you did it. Now how many effects are there on the market that can honestly make this claim?

  1. Very POEtic

I looked through the book to find the gimmick and would never have found it if I did not watch the video beforehand. There is no way a layperson would discover it. The peek is very natural and I like the assciative word idea as it makes you think a little as you divine the word. If you don't want to think take up box magic.
